Design and survey work for building and equipment of water abstractions in Sochi

SHANECO group jointly with Lenpromstroyproject Institute (general designer), GIDEK and Injzashchita companies are participating in design and survey works for building and equipment of water abstractions in Sochi.

On December 22, 2008 state corporation “Olympstroy”, having processed a collective application from Lenpromstroyproject Institute, GIDEK and Injzashchita companies and SHANECO group, adopted a resolution to settle a contract with CJSC “Lenpromstroyproject Institute” (general designer from St. Petersburg) for designing of 3 water abstractions in the area of the Olympic games objects building.

According to the selection agreement, the winner should manage engineering works and design and survey works for building and equipment of water abstractions at the following rivers: the Beshenka river (with capacity of 11,000 cubic meters per day), the right bank of the Mzymta river (14,000 cubic meters per day) and the Psou river (10,000 cubic meters per day). The works should be conducned in a period from January to October 2009.

The whole set of works consists of three components: designing, survey and geological exploration.
The experts of SHANECO group perform on-site engineering and environmental survey:

soil and ground exploration
the vegetable world exploration
the animal world exploration
radiological conditions exploration

And besides perform preparation of the project environmental documentation:

initial environmental examination (IEE)
environment impact assessment procedure (EIAP)
environmental protection action sheet (EP AS)

The administration of the Olympic Games organizational committee reported at the conference on environmental safety of the Olympic Games objects designing and building, that Russia would implement for the first time the “Green standards” system in the framework of the preparation to the 2014 Games, which would ensure preservation of the unique natural environment of Sochi.
At the first preproduction workshop SHANECO group was represented by Sergey Vasilyev, the head of scientific-methods council. His speech was focused at the analysis of the Russian Federation regulatory framework in respect of its correspondence to the Green standards.
